Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Google Cloud project?

Yes. Create a free project, enable the Gmail API, and create OAuth credentials. Takes about 5 minutes.

Is my email data stored on my server?

Only message metadata is cached locally. Full email bodies are fetched on-demand from Gmail and not stored.

Can recipients tell I sent from WordPress?

No. Gmail messages go through Google's servers with full SPF/DKIM. IONOS and Hotmail messages go through their respective SMTP servers. In all cases it looks identical to sending from your normal email client.

What happens if I deactivate the plugin?

All mail stays on your providers' servers. The local inbox cache and templates are preserved in the database. Reactivate anytime and everything picks up where it left off.

Can I use non-Gmail accounts?

Yes. Pro and Agency include IONOS mailboxes (for custom domains) and Hotmail/Outlook accounts via IMAP. Hotmail requires a Microsoft app password — generate one at account.microsoft.com under Security → Advanced security options → App passwords.

What's the difference between Starter, Pro, and Agency?

Starter covers the core Gmail workflow (1 account, read/reply/compose) on 1 site. Pro unlocks unlimited Gmail accounts, IONOS and Hotmail/Outlook mailboxes, the drag-and-drop template builder, desktop notifications, and 5 site activations.
